This guide walks through creating an account, finishing onboarding, and getting your first verified asset into your Vault so your Discotive Score starts moving.
How to access Discotive
Discotive runs as a web application at discotive.com. No installation is required to use the full product. If a downloadable build is available for your platform, it is listed on the Download page — the web app and any downloadable build share the same account and data.
Creating an account
- Go to Authenticate from the top of any public page.
- Sign up with Google, or with an email address. If you use email, Discotive sends a one-time verification code — enter it to confirm ownership of the address.
- You'll land in the onboarding flow immediately after your first successful sign-in.
Completing onboarding
Onboarding is an 8-step flow that captures your identity, domain, niche, baseline experience, and career vision. It determines:
- Your domain and niche, which power domain-filtered leaderboard rankings, recommended people, and recommended societies.
- Your public username and profile URL (
discotive.com/@yourusername). - A one-time Welcome Bonus added to your Discotive Score once onboarding is finalized.
Onboarding is finalized atomically — either every field is saved and your score bonus is applied, or nothing is, so you never end up in a half-initialized state.
Ghost accounts explained
If you authenticate via a provider like Google but close the tab before finishing the 8-step onboarding, your account exists in a ghost state. Ghost accounts can browse a limited set of read-only surfaces — most notably a preview of the Leaderboard — but cannot access the Vault, Connective, Settings, Profile, or earn score.
Open the app and you'll see an "Onboarding Incomplete" banner with a one-click path back into the onboarding flow. Completing onboarding immediately unlocks every module.
Syncing your first Vault asset
Once onboarding is complete, the fastest way to start moving your score is to add something to your Vault.
- Open Vault from the sidebar (or bottom nav on mobile).
- Use the + button to upload a file directly, or open Connectors to link an external account such as GitHub.
- Submitted assets enter a Pending state and go into a human admin review queue.
- Once reviewed, an asset is marked Verified with a strength tier, or Rejected with the reason shown on the asset. Verified assets contribute to your score; rejected ones do not, and you can resubmit with better evidence.

Your first week
- Log in daily to build a consistency streak.
- Upload at least one verifiable credential or project to the Vault.
- Join up to 3 Societies matching your domain (7 on Pro).
- Send a few alliance requests from Connective → Network to start building your graph.
- Check the Leaderboard to see your starting global and domain rank.
Troubleshooting sign-in
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |

| Stuck on a spinning loader after sign-in | Slow network or a stale cached session | Refresh the page. If it persists, sign out and sign back in. |
| Google popup closes immediately | Browser is blocking third-party popups | Allow popups for discotive.com in your browser's site settings and retry. |
| Verification code email never arrives | Delivery delay or spam filtering | Check spam/promotions. Codes expire after 10 minutes — request a new one if needed. |
| Redirected back to onboarding every time | Your account is in a ghost state | See Ghost accounts explained above. |
